FCS Financial is seeking an independent, competitive, pro-active self-starter.  This Vice President, Agribusiness develops and maintains a portfolio of agriculture business specifically within the crop and grain industry. This person must maintain a current portfolio along with creating new loans, and develop customer relationships.  This is a fast-paced, challenging, and mobile environment. 

This position’s market territory is in statewide with potential office locations in the following locations within Missouri: Columbia, Hannibal, Harrisonville, Higginsville, Joplin, Macon, Maryville, Nevada, O'Fallon, Sedalia, and Springfield.

Consideration for lender with experience in cattle, poultry or other livestock type lending will be given. Other locations within the associations lending area will be considered for a candidate with strong knowledge of an existing established market/client base outside the listed areas.

Portfolio Servicing

  • Coordinates covenant monitoring by collecting required customer reports and information
  • Provides information on subsequent loan servicing actions
  • Reviews portfolio to monitor performance, identify evolving risk   and maintain  ongoing accurate account risk classification
  • Communicate with customers regarding their financial position and industry/financing trends
  • Provides on-going financial feedback and details on financing perspectives which assist customers in operating to meet their business goals.

New Loan Origination

  • Identifies customer and prospect  needs
  • Gathers customer information needed for loan approval
  • Compiles information into comprehensive package for Loan Committee consideration
  • Delegates tasks to Financial Services Specialists
  • Monitors loan progress
  • Advocates for loan packages that are beneficial for customers and the Association
  • Presents approved loan package to customer
  • Coordinates the communication with other lenders on note purchase/participation opportunities.

Customer Relationship Development

  • Identifies and contacts potential customers and prospects
  • Determines approach for establishing a relationship with each potential customer
  • Gains understanding of customer business and lending needs
  • Attends and participates in industry events

  • Provides guidance and suggestions to peers regarding loan structuring, loan decisions, customer relationships, and approval or denial of loans

Required Skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, sales, finance or related field

  • 7 years of related experience

  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job

  • 2 years of Portfolio Management experience

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Expert knowledge of the financials of agribusinesses

  • Expert knowledge of current agricultural lending practices and the financial services industry

  • Working knowledge of agriculture and livestock production

  • Skill in interpreting the financials of large, complex and/or multi-entity Ari-Business operations

  • Skill in reasoning persuasively to sell Association products and services

  • Skill in establishing and maintaining relationships with existing and perspective customers

  • Oral and written communication skills, sufficient to exchange information effectively with peers, supervisor and customers

  • Skill in working as part of a team and collaborating with colleagues

  • Skill in utilizing available technology to increase efficiency and/or effectiveness

  • Skill in writing technical reports

  • Skill in preparing and presenting information to an audience in an engaging and effective way
